"The Edge Of Creation II" by Lissa Hatcher I've rated this as an exceptional image because Lissa's command of light and composition make her a photographer to watch. Her images posses layer upon layer of meaning, just waiting to be discovered, especially in this image Here she's crafted a very dramatic image of contrasting thematic elements that make for a very powerful symbolic statement. It conveys to me the very powerful and emotional moment when everything is balanced perfectly and you just know that something beautiful is happening but you're not quite sure what it is yet, and you're waiting for it to unfold. It reminds me a great deal of the Tarot card the Two of Wands, where everything is there, joy and riches, and sorrow and regret, but which one it will be has yet to become known.
A really fun interpretation of the title, where even the silverware gets in on the act.
An exquisitely sharp macro capture of the face of a beautiful old Grandfather clock. I don't know if the lighting could be made any better as it crisply delineates all of the metalwork details.
Gallery for April 6th, 2005.
It takes a moment to realize what is actually going on in this image, and it's that single moment of innocent wonder amongst the bewildered confusion that makes this image such a joy to see.
Today seems to be the day for perceptual illusions. A very well done juxtaposition of title and image. At first glance the models face does seem to be a mask suspended on a framework. And then even after looking at the image for a while it still seems to be oddly out of place on the draped figure of her body. A well executed image to think about and study.
It's really hard for me to use the terms "artistic" and "cute" in the same sentence, but for this image I really need to. A beautiful and feeling composition of a duckling seeking shelter under a tiny sapling. You really have to see this one to understand.
Gallery for March 18th, 2005.
A wonderfully peaceful forest landscape, with a sense of expectation caused by the light foggy mist in the background.
A close-up portrait of a monkey with a lot of emotion.
Simple yet creatively humorous.
A great atmospheric portrait of a musician.
This image has one of the strongest impacts I ever seen in a portrait photo. It just seems to reach out and grab onto to you, commanding your attention, like it's trying to tell you something that's critically important.
A creative and humorous commentary on being unique. Done in the style of the recently popular tongue-in-cheek inspirational posters.
Gallery for March 8th, 2005.
A beautiful portrait of youth. It almost feels like an image of fading innocence.
Gallery for March 5th, 2005.
A delightful silhouette on a lake.
An interesting interplay of light and shadow.
An excellently done artistic image. Wonderful composition of line and form, and an emotionally evocative pose and expression.
Gallery for March 3rd, 2005.
A phenomenal capture of color and light in this image of a mountain in the Dolomite range.
A gorgeous sepia toned B&W glamour portrait.

"Gown By Bill Blass, Attitude by Christina" by Don Harper
One of the rare instances where a dress by Bill Blass is out shined by the model. Her raspberry colored hair blowing wildly in the wind, and the beauty and attitude of her face just take the show. The dress just becomes mere window dressing.
This one had me do a double-take when I first saw it. The Jack of Diamonds coming right out of the playing card, and it's real, not just a digital alteration.
Another phenomenal gallery. Salvador Dali inspired Images that are created without digital manipulation to achieve the dream-like surrealist distortions.
A very nice simple elegant composition. Hard to get with live fish.
A wonderful gallery of abstracts from a train yard.
